Do I have to download anything separately?

Is my WiFi password safe?
Yes, on two levels. The QR code is generated entirely on your machine — the password is never uploaded to any server, unlike WiFi QR websites. And inside the widget the password lives only in memory: it’s never even saved to disk.
Which network types does it support?
WPA/WPA2 (what almost every home and office router uses today), WEP for older networks, and open networks with no password. There’s also a “hidden network” option for SSIDs that don’t broadcast.
How do guests actually connect?
They point their phone camera at the code. The QR encodes the standard WIFI: format that iPhone and Android cameras recognize natively — the phone shows a “Join network” prompt and connects. No app to install on their side.
Can I print it for the fridge or an Airbnb?
That’s the whole point. Save the code as an SVG — it scales to any size without pixelating, so it prints crisp on a sticker, a framed card or an A4 sheet. You can also copy it as a PNG image and drop it into a house-manual document.
