A Pomodoro in your menu bar.
Focus in 25/5 cycles without a browser tab or a phone app. Start it once and it keeps ticking in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows) — notifying you at every phase, even with the popover closed.
Focus, break, repeat — automatically.
Hit start and it runs the classic rhythm: a focus block, a short break, and a long break after a few rounds. Every switch is handled for you and announced with a notification, so you never babysit the clock. Pause, skip or reset whenever you need to.
- Configurable focus, short-break and long-break minutes
- Choose how many focus sessions trigger a long break
- Pause, skip and reset controls
- Counts the focus sessions you complete each day
It won’t freeze when you look away.
The timer lives in a background service, not in the popover — so it keeps advancing through focus and breaks whether the panel is open or not, and it fires your phase notifications on time. Close the popover, do your work, and let it tap you on the shoulder.
- Phases advance with the popover closed
- Notifications arrive exactly at the switch
- macOS: live countdown mirrored in the menu-bar title
Right in your menu bar — no window needed.
It’s one widget of many.
Pomodoro is a single tab inside Webstarted Toolbox — a lightweight hub that lives in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows). One icon, a click, and a popover full of small tools organized in tabs.
Questions, answered.
Does the timer keep running when I close the popover?
Yes. The Pomodoro runs as a background service, so phases advance and notifications fire whether or not the popover is open — it won’t freeze at 0:00 the moment you click away.
Can I change the work and break lengths?
Yes. The classic 25 / 5 / 15 is the default, but you can set your own minutes for focus, short break and long break, plus how many focus sessions happen before a long break.
Will it show the countdown without opening the app?
On macOS the remaining time mirrors right in the menu-bar title, with a 🍅 for focus and ☕ for breaks, so you can glance at it without opening anything.
Is it free?
Yes. Pomodoro is one of the widgets built into Webstarted Toolbox, which is free to download and use — no account required.
