A scratchpad that’s always one keystroke away.
The thought you need to dump right now — a link, a snippet, a to-do — without opening a real app. Hit your shortcut, type, and it autosaves. Keep as many notes as you want in tabs, and get them out as .txt or .md anytime.

Think it, dump it, forget it.
The best note is the one you actually take. Quick Note lives in your menu bar, so it’s there the instant you need to stash something — a URL you’ll need in a sec, a command, a half-formed idea. You type; it saves itself. No file dialog, no “where did I put that,” no app to launch.
- Open from a global shortcut, anywhere
- Autosaves as you type — nothing to lose
- Reopens exactly where you left off

One note per thing on your mind.
Don’t cram everything into one wall of text. Keep a tab for your standup, one for the call you’re on, one messy scratchpad — and flip between them in a click. Each tab is its own note, all autosaved, all a shortcut away.
- As many notes as you need, in tabs
- Rename and switch in a click
- Every tab autosaves independently

- loop in design
Your notes, and your AI, in the loop.
Copy the whole note in one click, or save it as a .txt or .md file — nothing’s locked in. And with Toolbox’s built-in local MCP server, your AI assistant (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code) can read the active note and append to it — so “jot this down” or “add this to my notes” just works. It’s opt-in and runs on your machine.
- Copy all · export to .txt or .md
- An AI agent can read & append to the active note (MCP)
- Local and opt-in — you turn the agent access on

Questions, answered.
Does it save automatically?
Yes. Quick Note autosaves as you type — there’s no save button to remember and nothing to lose. Close the popover, reopen it, and your text is exactly where you left it.
Can I keep more than one note?
Yes. Notes live in tabs, so you can keep a scratchpad, a standup list and a meeting note side by side and switch between them in a click.
Can I get my text out?
Copy the whole note in one click, or save it to a .txt or .md file. Nothing is locked in.
Can an AI assistant use it?
Yes — with Toolbox’s built-in local MCP server, an AI agent (Claude Desktop, Cursor, Claude Code) can read the active note and append to it. Handy for “jot this down” or pulling notes into a prompt. It’s opt-in.
Is it free?
Yes. Quick Note is one of the widgets built into Webstarted Toolbox, which is free to download and use — no account required.
