Classic minesweeper in your menu bar.
The game you already know, one click away. Clear the board without hitting a mine โ numbers tell you how many are next door, flags mark the ones youโve found. A safe first click, three difficulties, and a best time to beat. 100% offline.

Read the numbers, flag the mines.
Click a cell to reveal it. If itโs empty, the board opens up around it; if itโs a number, thatโs how many of the eight neighbours hide a mine. Use those clues to work out where the danger is, drop a flag on each suspected mine, and clear every safe square to win. The very first click is always safe.
- Safe first click โ mines are placed after you open the board
- Adjacency numbers, colour-coded like the classic
- Flag mode to mark and protect suspected mines
- Its own artwork โ not a re-skin of anyone elseโs
Three boards, three records โ all offline.
Pick the board that fits your break: an easy 9ร9, a busier 12ร12, or a proper 16ร16 challenge. Each difficulty tracks its own best time, so you always have a personal record to chase. Everything runs on your machine โ no account, no network, nothing leaves your computer.
- Easy 9ร9 with 10 mines
- Medium 12ร12 with 24 mines
- Hard 16ร16 with 40 mines
- Best time stored locally, per difficulty

Minesweeper isnโt bundled into the app โ itโs a widget in the Webstarted Toolbox catalog. Open the catalog tab (๐งฐ), press the โ+โ next to Minesweeper, and it drops into your menu bar. No reinstall, no app update. Here are a few of its neighbors:
Questions, answered.
Do I have to download anything separately?
No. Minesweeper is a widget in the Webstarted Toolbox catalog. Open the catalog tab (๐งฐ) inside the app, hit the โ+โ next to Minesweeper, and it installs in one click โ no separate download, and no app update needed.
Is the first click ever a mine?
No. The first cell you click is always safe โ the board lays out the mines around it โ so a game is never lost on move one. From there itโs the classic rules: numbers show how many mines touch each cell.
How do I place a flag?
Toggle flag mode and tap a cell to mark a suspected mine (or use the secondary click). Flags help you keep track and stop an accidental tap from detonating a square you meant to leave alone.
Is it affiliated with the Microsoft game?
No. This is an independent minesweeper with its own artwork, not affiliated with or endorsed by Microsoft. It just follows the same classic rules everyone already knows. It runs 100% offline and keeps your best time per difficulty locally.
