A text case converter in your menu bar.
Every text cleanup you keep googling — convert case (UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title, Sentence), camelCase / snake_case / kebab-case, slugify, count words, characters and lines, dedupe and sort lines — one click away. 100% offline: your text never leaves your machine.

Transform your text now
Paste your text and pick an operation. It all happens in your browser — nothing is sent to a server.
100% local · your text never leaves this tab
Paste, click, done. And clicks stack.
One working textarea, one button per transform. Convert case to UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case or Sentence case; turn any phrase into camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case or a URL-safe slug (accents stripped); dedupe, sort, reverse or drop empty lines; trim and collapse stray whitespace. Every operation applies to the same text, so you can chain them — trim, dedupe, sort, slug — and a one-step Undo saves you when you overshoot.
- 4 case conversions + 4 identifier formats, including slugify
- Line tools: dedupe, sort, reverse, remove empty lines
- Whitespace cleanup: trim edges, collapse repeated spaces
- Live word, line and character counter · Copy · Undo · Clear
Stop pasting work text into random websites.
Every online case converter works the same way: you paste your text into someone else’s page. For a client email, an unreleased product name or a chunk of internal copy, that’s a quiet data leak. Text Tools runs entirely on your machine — no server, no account, no analytics on your text. Turn Wi-Fi off and every button still works.
- All 14 operations run locally — nothing is uploaded
- Works with no internet connection at all
- Your working text persists between opens, on your device
Same conversions. Nothing pasted into a website.
If you keep a convert-case or slugify site bookmarked, this does the same job — minus the browser tab, the ads and the upload. It sits in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows), one keystroke away, and it bundles the whole cleanup kit — case, identifiers, slug, line tools, counters — instead of one page per operation.
- Your text stays local, instead of pasted into a web page
- No ads, no paywalls, no “upgrade for more characters”
- One click from the menu bar vs opening a browser and searching
Installed from the catalog, in one click.
Text Tools isn’t bundled into the app — it’s a widget in the Webstarted Toolbox catalog. Open the catalog tab (🧰), press the “+” next to Text Tools, and it drops into your menu bar. No reinstall, no app update. Here are a few of its neighbors:
Questions, answered.
Do I have to download anything separately?
No. Text Tools is a widget in the Webstarted Toolbox catalog. Open the catalog tab (🧰) inside the app, hit the “+” next to Text Tools, and it installs in one click — no separate download, and no app update needed.
Is my text uploaded anywhere?
No. Every operation runs locally on your machine — there’s no server, no analytics on your text, and it works with Wi-Fi off. That’s the whole point versus pasting company emails, client copy or code into a random converter website.
Which text operations are included?
Fourteen: UPPERCASE, lowercase, Title Case and Sentence case; camelCase, snake_case, kebab-case and URL slug (it strips accents); dedupe lines, sort lines, reverse lines and remove empty lines; trim whitespace and collapse repeated spaces. Plus live word, line and character counts.
Can I chain operations — and undo one?
Yes. Every button applies to the same working textarea, so you can trim, then dedupe, then sort, then slugify in sequence. There’s a one-step Undo if the last transform wasn’t what you wanted, plus Copy and Clear buttons.
Does it count words and characters as I type?
Yes. A live counter under the textarea shows words, lines and characters and updates on every keystroke — handy for tweet limits, meta descriptions or essay word counts.
