Your copies never touch the disk.
A clipboard picks up everything — including passwords and tokens. So the history lives only in memory while Toolbox is open, and is never saved to a file. Quit the app and it’s gone. And it stays off until you switch it on, so nothing is captured unless you asked for it.

Where is my clipboard history stored?
In memory only, while Toolbox is running — it is never written to disk. Quit the app and the history is gone. That’s a deliberate privacy choice: sensitive things you copy (passwords, tokens) don’t linger in a file.
Is it on by default?
No. Clipboard history is opt-in — you turn it on in settings. Until you do, nothing is captured.
How is it different from Maccy or Paste?
Same core idea — quick access to what you copied — but it’s in-memory only (no disk history), works on both macOS and Windows, and comes inside Toolbox alongside notes, timers, dev tools and more, instead of being one more standalone app.
Does it sync to the cloud or across devices?
No. Your clipboard history stays on the machine that copied it — it’s held in memory, never uploaded and never synced. If that machine is off, there’s no copy of it anywhere.
