Count down to anything.
Launches, deadlines, trips, a birthday — keep every date that matters ticking in your menu bar. Down to the day, hour and second, grouped by category, one glance away.
Add a date. Watch it tick.
Give it a label, pick a date and time, and — if you want — a category. It builds a live countdown right there, and keeps every event you add tidy by grouping them. When a date passes, it doesn’t disappear: it flips to show how long ago it was.
- Label, date, time — down to the second
- Optional categories keep a long list readable
- Past dates count up as “time elapsed”
- As many countdowns as you need
The dates you keep checking, in one place.
Instead of doing date math in your head or hunting through a calendar, keep the handful of dates you actually care about a click away — the launch you’re building toward, the deadline you can’t miss, the trip you’re counting on.
- Product launches & release dates
- Deadlines, renewals and cutoffs
- Trips, birthdays and personal milestones
It’s one widget of many.
Countdown is a single tab inside Webstarted Toolbox — a lightweight hub that lives in your menu bar (macOS) or system tray (Windows). One icon, a click, and a popover full of small tools organized in tabs.
Questions, answered.
Can I organize countdowns into groups?
Yes. Give each countdown an optional category — Work, Personal, Launches — and they’re grouped together so a long list stays readable.
Does it count down to the second?
Yes. Each countdown ticks live: days, hours, minutes and seconds, e.g. “12d 03:45:10”. Once a date passes it flips to an elapsed view so you can see how long ago it was.
Can I count up from a past date too?
Yes — set a date in the past and it shows the time elapsed since, which is handy for anniversaries, streaks or “days since”.
Is it free?
Yes. Countdown is one of the widgets built into Webstarted Toolbox, which is free to download and use — no account required.
